Shaanxi Ansai Waist Drum Troupe active in Greater Toronto - showing the unique charm and strength of Shaanxi

The Ansai Waist Drum Team of the Shaanxi Association of Canada was established in 2024 and is dedicated to promoting the Ansai Waist Drum, a national intangible cultural heritage of Shaanxi Province. As a symbol of Shaanxi culture, the Ansai Waist Drum showcases the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture with its bold and unrestrained drumbeats, vigorous and powerful dance moves, and shocking momentum. Since its establishment, the Waist Drum Team has been active in the Greater Toronto Area, actively participating in various cultural events, and has served as the opening performance many times, becoming an important force in showcasing Shaanxi culture. In 2025, the Waist Drum Team received special funding support from the Canadian government, providing stronger guarantees for its future development and overseas promotion of Shaanxi culture.
