Shaanxi Association of Canada Business Department Leads Delegation to Visit Sponsors, Discuss Cooperation and Development

Following the successful “Uniting Strengths, Gratitude to Sponsors” event hosted by the Shaanxi Association Council on March 9, 2025, on the morning of March 13, President Zhou Zhijun of the Canadian Shaanxi Association, accompanied by Vice President Jason Zhang, Commerce Minister Guo Lin, and Mr. Fan, visited Oakville to pay courtesy calls on sponsors and supporters of the association's activities. The delegation aimed to strengthen ties and engage in in-depth discussions on future collaboration.

Visit to Mr. Hao Yuzhu, Founder of OnFresh Foods

He delegation first visited Industrial Supermarket to meet Mr. Hao Yuzhu, founder of OnFresh Foods and a prominent Chinese Canadian entrepreneur. OnFresh Foods has established a strong presence in Canada's food industry, specializing in dumplings, fruits, vegetables, and meat products that are widely popular across the Greater Toronto Area. Mr. Hao highlighted his dumpling and meat counters at Industrial Supermarket, showcasing fresh pork belly, pig trotters, and specialty items like offal such as heart, liver, and lungs. He emphasized the company's stable and reliable meat supply chain, highlighting strict control over slaughtering processes. Government inspectors are stationed on-site around the clock, meticulously examining every cut of meat, with non-compliant products immediately destroyed. With a touch of humor, he noted that government inspectors and regular workers are nearly indistinguishable, the only difference being the badge on their chest.

During the brief 20-minute exchange, the delegation witnessed a steady stream of customers from diverse ethnic backgrounds—including Chinese, Caucasian, and Indian—coming to shop, fully demonstrating OnFresh Foods' market recognition. To cater to diverse customer needs, Mr. Hao specifically hired Nepalese staff and personally took on the roles of salesperson and server during peak seasons, embodying the entrepreneur's pragmatic and dedicated spirit.

Following the meeting, the delegation visited Ms. Yang Ying, a tax specialist.

Ms. Yang possesses extensive experience in the tax field and has dedicated years to providing professional financial and tax advisory services to Chinese businesses and individuals. As a long-time supporter of the Shaanxi Association, she not only offers expert financial and tax guidance to fellow compatriots but also actively participates in community outreach initiatives, helping new Chinese immigrants better integrate into Canadian society. During this exchange, Ms. Yang expressed her commitment to continuing financial and tax support for Shaanxi compatriots and looked forward to closer collaboration with the Association to jointly serve the Chinese community.

He highly commended the Shaanxi Association's recent efforts in Canada to promote Shaanxi culture and foster unity within the Chinese community.
