Dear Board Members,
Preventing telecom and online fraud is our top priority this year. We have specially planned a series of fraud prevention educational activities, inviting professionals to enhance the financial security awareness of middle-aged and elderly groups in three key areas: strengthening fraud prevention awareness, minimizing potential losses, and protecting legal rights. Our goal is to help them avoid online fraud while safely using digital devices and services.
I. Lecture Series Schedule Our board held a mobilization meeting on May 26 to officially launch this digital lecture series.
Starting from June, the Shaanxi Association will host ten specialized lectures - one per month. These sessions will combine online and offline formats, featuring police officers and cybersecurity experts who will provide in-depth case analyses. Topics include:
Elder Romance Fraud: Exposing fraud tactics and helping seniors avoid emotional manipulation
Online Shopping Fraud: Identifying common scams and learning safe shopping practices
Prize Scam Prevention: Understanding lottery fraud and avoiding "too good to be true" offers
Health Product Scams: Detecting false health claims and protecting personal wellbeing
Collectibles Investment Fraud: Recognizing investment traps and promoting smart decisions
Comprehensive Fraud Prevention: Understanding various fraud methods and defense strategies
Sextortion Awareness: Protecting against predators who exploit loneliness
Financial Fraud Prevention: Avoiding high-interest loan traps and illegal investment schemes
Legal Resources for Victims: Accessing legal aid and protecting your rights
Digital Privacy Protection: Safeguarding personal information and financial assets
II. Format Sessions will be conducted both online and offline. The August session will be held in-person during the Association's Food Festival, while all other months will feature online lectures.
III. Organization: This initiative requires active participation from all board members:
We will establish a dedicated WeChat support group to coordinate responsibilities
Each session needs two board members to serve as organizers, overseeing everything from planning to execution
Organizers will receive a one-time cash reward
Each session will feature prize drawings:
First Prize (1): $30
Second Prize (2): $20 each
Third Prize (3): $10 each
Perfect attendance award: $50 for attending all sessions
IV. Experience Sharing Participants will share personal experiences and insights about fraud prevention, fostering community support and learning.
V. Multimedia Education We will screen anti-fraud films, short videos, and documentaries to illustrate various fraud schemes and their consequences.
VI. Interactive Learning Participants will engage in role-playing exercises and scenario simulations, including creating and evaluating their own anti-fraud scenario plays to build practical defense skills.
Board members are encouraged to sign up for session organize and leadership roles according to their schedules. Remember: two organizers per session, one session per month.
